A few words from our new Chairman, Joe Shepherd
Having taken on the role of chairman midway through the season I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the improvements made to the running of the club over the last few years, especially to the media side which excellently continues to promote our club to a wider audience as we are about to enter our 75th anniversary season. Also, the dedication by a hardy bunch of committee members must be praised but as we all know more help is always needed and appreciated so feel free to approach the club if you want to get involved.
I have also been made aware of the financial situation we find ourselves in which means fundraising is a high priority so we all need to pull together in the coming months to improve on this so we are able to continue to provide a high standard of football to all of our age groups in a safe environment.
Lastly, I want to take the opportunity to thank every sponsor, advertiser, and donator sincerely for their contribution and support of the club and hope that our partnerships will continue to promote local businesses far into the future.
Season 2024/25
As the season enters its final stages, we just wanted to thank all players, coaches, and parents for their commitment to Windscale! With over 200 players registered at the club its great to see our teams compete right across the County and it wouldn’t be possible without everyone playing their part, thank you!
Windscale Way!
2 years ago, we produced a booklet that explained how we approach coaching and the general management of teams across all age groups. We called this the Windscale Way! Its purpose was primarily to explain to parents what you can expect from us and what we expect in return when your child plays for one of our teams. We have started updating this and will re-issue an ‘e-version’ via our website before the start of the 2025/26 season.
Our 75th Anniversary!
The 2025/26 season will see us celebrate 75 years of Windscale! We are extremely proud of our history and want to mark the occasion as best we can. We are in the process of identifying a few things we can do to celebrate the occasion so keep an eye out for updates! If anyone has any specific ideas of would like to help organise events, please get in touch on windscaleafc@talktalk.net
75TH Anniversary Kit!
You may have seen that we have recently launched the special edition kit with our supplier, Fused Sport, we’re aiming for all teams to start the 2025/26 season with the new kit which we think looks absolutely fantastic! For this to happen we need each team to secure a sponsor, ideally the current sponsor of each team will be keen to continue with us but if not, a new sponsor will be required. We think it is a great opportunityand will be working hard to give coverage to all sponsors through this special celebratory season. As with all previous kits, this new one will be worn for the next 2 seasons.
Leisurewear Items
Before the end of May, we will be refreshing the colours on some of the existing leisurewear items to match in with the new home kit colours. As usual some new items will be available too and can be ordered via our website where the club shop can be found. Orders are typically sent to Fused Sport on the 16th of each month and take 6 weeks to be produced. We will be closing the shop for a short period to allow for the refresh.
Monthly Payments – Club Supporter
Thank you to everyone who has helped us transition to a new payment system, Club Supporter. Moving to Club Supporter has significantly reduced the admin burden for the club and we can now register players and manage payments effectively. All players currently set up on Club Supporter will not need to do anything heading into next season. All new players will need to register and fill in the emergency contact details form. Each team will be amended on the system to reflect the new age group your child will play in, for example, if your child is currently assigned to the Under 10’s Blues in Club Supporter this will be updated to Under 11’s Blues next season.
2025/26 Payment Increases
The financial pressures on the club have been significant this season, it’s been a challenging year to ensure we can continue and looking ahead, the Committee has carried out a full review of all expenditure and income. Unfortunately, we are going to have to increase monthly payments next season. We have assessed all the costs and feel the most appropriate way to manage this is to implement the following payment structure:

All ‘sibling discounts’ will continue to apply as they do now.
As has been the case for several seasons, payments are made over 12 months of the year so please do not cancel your payment during the off season. The new increased monthly payments shown above will start from June 2026, you won’t need to do anything, we will make the changes so that existing payments are amended to reflect the new payment amount.
